Vegan Skincare: Clean vs. Dirty in the Quest for Ethical & Effective Products

Vegan skincare and dental solutions have taken the world by storm, and for good reason! More and more people are realizing the impact of their choices on their health, the environment, and the well-being of animals.

Whether you are vegan or not, understanding how natural, ethical, transparent, and truly effective products are, matters to everyone. Having options that align with your values, cause no harm in the making, and importantly, actually work, help the world to be a better place for all.

Unfortunately, navigating the world of vegan skincare, dental, and self-care products in general, can be a challenging task. Since there is no labeling regulation for the term “vegan”, it can be confusing to determine if a product is “clean vegan” or what we call “dirty vegan” - masquerading as being vegan but including non-vegan ingredients.

This is very frustrating for people that adhere to a vegan lifestyle, and at Primal Life Organics, we get it. We are staunch advocates for standing by our values and are committed to providing products that are made with only premium natural ingredients, cruelty-free, paleo-friendly, gluten-free, and vegan whenever possible.

In this article, we are going to define what makes a product vegan, how it is different from “organic”, “natural”, and “cruelty-free”, and how you can be sure to buy “clean vegan” over “dirty vegan”.

How To Create A Natural Skincare Routine At Any Age

In a world where we're bombarded with an overwhelming number of skincare products that promise to turn back the clock and leave us with youthful, radiant skin, it's easy to get swept up in the hype.

But thankfully, more and more people have become aware of the damaging effects from using products made with toxic chemicals - including parabens. phthalates, formaldehyde, fragrance, mineral oil, BHT, and aluminum - just to name a few.

These chemicals have been linked to a range of health problems, including cancer and premature aging. In fact, the FDA has only banned 11 cosmetic ingredients since 1930, while the European Union has banned over 1,300.

This is why it's crucial to switch to natural skincare. In this article, we'll explore the many benefits of a natural skincare routine and provide tips on how to create one that's tailored to your individual skin type.

I want to ask you something…

Do you ever feel like life is just too much?

Too much work

Too much chaos

Too much weight.

And I’m not just talking about physical weight, although that’s a big challenge, too.

I’m talking about the burden of living a life that’s so full of demands, you never get to fulfill your real purpose.

The stress that comes with the belly pain, bloating, leaky gut and discomfort of digestive issues can literally send a person right into a “meh” existence. I AM VERY familiar with all of this, as I have struggled with SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth).

A few years ago, I was placed on antibiotics for 9 months that destroyed my gut ecosystem and left me with a digestive mess.  As I am on the journey to improve my health and my digestive brain, I am sharing a smoothie with a secret ingredient that will heal and soothe your gut with each slurp: Aloe Vera.

We can all agree that nothing makes you look or feel as gorgeous as sun-kissed, skin?!!
From the beginning of the season to the end, showing off that summer skin is what we all look forward to while we’re sunning, funning and beaching! Am I right…or am I right?
But it’s not all bronzing and bathing suits, sun-kissed skin has the potential to become a real beauty hazard. No, I’m not referring to sun damage because I know all my Primal Lifers are using the right products for daily summer care, and before and after sun protection.
I’m referring to “mismatched foundation syndrome”.
Yes, you heard that right! That’s when your golden-glow
and makeup are no longer perfectly paired.

It’s well known from extensive research that fragrance is a common sensitizing ingredient for all skin types. Yet, despite this information, fragrance is common in more skincare products than you can imagine.

Many people don’t realize the damage fragrance does to your skin and your body… and if you think you are “safe” because you purchase “unscented” products, think again.

Many synthetic ingredients used in skincare (natural products included, especially water-based skincare) have a horrible odor.

In order to cover up the bad odor, so you will apply it to your face or body, companies will use fragrance (the F-word of skincare) to neutralize the bad odor… odor eater chemicals if you will.

So, when it comes to your beauty care products, the magic rule of thumb is the first 5 ingredients are the ones that matter the most. After the fifth ingredient everything else is probably below the 1% line. This is where a lot of “questionable and obscure” ingredients hide.

What? 1% line?  What the heck is that?

Simply put, any ingredient that is less than 1% of the total recipe can be listed in any order.  This is a great marketing ploy and a way companies can make you believe the ingredients are “better” than they really are.

How to find the 1% line?
